With plenty of commitments that you need to fulfill every day, it can be difficult for you to find time to focus on your skin health. However, taking care of your skin is also vital. If you have been neglecting your skin health, then now is the time to start a natural skin care routine.

What is the First Thing to do in Your Natural Skin Care routine?

Cleansing must always be the first step in your routine. But don’t just use any cleaner. Make sure that it is formulated for the face. Some products are designed for people with acne. They contain beads that exfoliate the skin. However, you don’t need everyday exfoliation. It can irritate your skin and may worsen your acne if you suffer from this condition. Instead, when shopping for a cleanser, make sure to buy non-comedogenic products. It means that they do not clog your skin pores.

If you have sensitive skin, opt for cleansers with no fragrance, alcohol, or dyes. They are known to aggravate your skin condition. On the other hand, if you have extremely dry skin, you may consider a cream wash and not a foaming formula. Cleaning your face is necessary to remove any dirt, oil, makeup, and sweat without eliminating the good bacteria and moisture the skin needs.

Do You Need a Moisturizer?

You need to apply a moisturizer after every wash. Even if you have oily skin, moisturizer is still necessary. Moisturizer maintains the skin’s moisture barrier. It protects it from irritation. One thing to keep in mind when using this product is to apply it to damp skin. In that case, after cleansing, don’t dry your face immediately. Instead, slather the natural moisturizer on after cleaning your face.

  • Dry skin. Opting for products with the word “cream” on the labels can be a good idea.
  • Oily skin. Choose lighter products. Instead of cream, opt for a product with the word “lotion.”
  • Daytime application. Use lighter moisturizer.
  • Night Time. Thicker products are necessary.

When studying the ingredients of your skincare products, choose a product with a simple list. The more ingredients you see, the greater the chances that it will cause skin irritation.

Apply Sunscreen

This is the third step of your skin care routine. Your skin has a greater risk of developing skin cancer if your skin gets exposed to the sun often. Thus, it is vital that you use sunscreen daily. Even if you will only be outside for a few minutes or an hour, you need to protect your skin with sunscreen.

Use Antioxidants

This is optional but it can help moisturize your skin and prevent the signs of aging from showing up. Vitamin C is a common antioxidant that you can find in many skin care products. You can also find it in one of the natural skin care products at Arizona Sun. Find out more about them here.
