How Sunscreen and Lotions Protect Your Skin?

Sun tan lotion companies offer different sunscreen products. One of the things you will notice is the SPF. It is a sunscreen factor that represents the level of protection it can offer against harmful ultraviolet rays. Without proper protection, you are likely to develop skin cancer. 

What is SPF and are Sun Tan Lotion Companies Required to Include It? 

When you look for protection against sunburn, you should be looking at its SPF. And yes, the companies are required to include the number on the label. The higher the factor, the better protection you can get. 

For high protection, consider SPF ratings between 30 and 50. However, SPF ratings of 6 to 14 can still be better than having no protection at all. If it takes 20 minutes for your skin to start turning red, then you should consider SPF 15. It delays reddening by 15 times longer.

They are two different products. However, some companies interchange them. Generally, sun tan lotion is referred to as any substance to hasten tanning. Unlike sunscreen, it has little or no sun protection factor. Sunscreen, on the other hand, has an SPF rating.

They are not that dangerous, though, however, they still penetrate your skin more deeply. In that case, make sure to look for products that with protection against UVA and UVB rays. 

Sun Moisturizers: Are they Effective? 

In addition to sun protection and sun tan lotion, you may also come across sun moisturizers on the market. They have SPF but they are typically low. Compared to creams, they are applied more thinly.
